Rodents

Rodents
Rodents can be one of the more disturbing pests to have, and they are also one of the harder ones to get rid of. They are commonly found in homes, attics, garages, sheds, and buildings. It is important to have a skilled professional take care of them. Advanced Pest and Termite uses different methods to catch or kill rodents in homes and offices.

Catch-Remove-Release

When doing a catch-remove-release method, we use animal traps and lockboxes around the home and in the attic. These are safe to be used around pets and children, and they allow us to trap the rodent so that we can remove it from your property and release it back into the wild.

Extermination

When we are exterminating rodents, we use a dehydrating rodenticide that causes the animal to flee back into the wild to search for water. The advantage of this type of rodenticide is that the rodent will not die inside your home leaving a smelly carcass behind.

If you think you might have a rodent problem, it is very important to deal with it because they carry diseases, they can contaminate your food, and they can destroy your property.

Common signs of a rodent infestation include:

  • Droppings
  • Footprints in moist or dusty places
  • Holes in the ground
  • Scurrying noises in your attic

Tips on how to prevent rodent infestation:

  1. Take away their shelter. Most rodents make shelters out of lumber, trash, or other objects around your house. Make sure you get rid of all boxes, trash, and cartons.
  2. Take away their food and water. Make sure you have lids on all your trash cans and fix any leaky faucets that might cause rodents to have access to water.
  3. Take away their entry point. Make sure you have every entry of your house or business sealed off. Fix any openings by covering them with metal or something similar. If you want to prevent rodents from getting under your foundation, seal it with concrete.
